Permobil TiLite X & Z

“You get what you pay for” usually insinuates that price dictates quality. Spending more money on a new car typically means it’s the best of the best! But, what if you could customize a wheelchair, an extension of you, for a low barrier to entry… Introducing the all-new TiLite Z and TiLite X wheelchairs.

Having lived with a spinal cord injury for the past 25 years has given me the opportunity and experience to have tested countless accessible devices. I have gone from antiquated power wheelchairs in the early 2000s to the lightest weight manual wheelchairs in the 2020s. And after all these years, the latest design from Permobil gives me the most hope, and customization, for those newly injured and entering into this new world!

Most recently, I was awarded the Hero Award by the Permobil Foundation and gifted their TiLite Z. “With over 1 billion (yes, I said, billion) possible configurations… these chairs are meant to adapt to your changing seating and mobility needs. From redesigned components to premium offerings at no additional cost, experience the best-in-class maneuverability of a TiLite chair.”

The chair features frame markings and hole patterns for easy adjustments, newly designed seat and back upholstery allow for tension adjustment, and easy-to-clean materials for durability. The contour packs allow users to personalize padding and comfort, and twenty different color options set you apart in a crowd! The TiLite Z has also reduced transport weight while increasing the maximum user weight capacity to 275 lbs.

Additionally, the TiLite X offers new angle and depth adjustable footrest, aluminum wheel locks, and composite casters at no additional charge. The new flip-back or removable armrests have been designed for ease and release – with a lever that is easy to use and a pin that can be pulled to adjust.

Permobil’s purpose “is to innovate for individuals; to create advanced assistive solutions that make the lives of people living with disabilities more enriching.” With Permobil by my side, I know that I won’t have to sacrifice quality when designing the right chair for me.
