On Denver 9News (NBC) experts on a variety of topics are regularly invited to offer on-air advice on the “9 Line” phones, where viewers call in with questions. As a member of the Colorado Dietetic Association, Shield HealthCare’s very own Registered Dietitian, Elizabeth was asked to join the broadcast on November 15, 2011 to give advice to callers on nutrition, weight management and raise awareness of Colorado Registered Dietitians.
Elizabeth received many different types of questions from callers ranging from weight loss tips and tricks to managing diabetes and cholesterol. Throughout the program, news broadcasters came over to listen to the live advice and chat about the important role of Registered Dietitians in health care. Thank you, 9News for giving Elizabeth this exciting and worthwhile opportunity to educate and engage on the 9 Line!
At Shield HealthCare, Registered Dietitians monitor the nutrition needs of tube-fed patients through an inclusive Enteral Nutrition Support Program. The program includes patient assessment, wellness checks, quarterly nutrition screenings and direct communication with the primary physician. The end results are fewer hospital readmissions, improved enteral nutrition tolerance and better patient compliance to the nutrition prescription.
Customers are always welcome to ask a Shield HealthCare Registered Dietitian a question here in the comments box or on our Facebook page.
