Join the Shield HealthCare Texas team at the 8th Annual Texas Parent To Parent Conference (TxP2P), June 29 and 30, 2012 at the Embassy Suites, Spa & Conference Center in San Marcos, TX.
The Annual TxP2P Parent Conference is designed to educate Texas parents about how to deal with the unique challenges and issues they face on a daily basis when caring for their children. The two-day conference offers multiple session tracks, each covering a different topic. This year’s themed tracks include: advocacy (general and legislative), autism, parenting and sibling issues including a one-day SibShop, special education law (basic to advanced), medical issues (including Medical Home and Medicaid Waiver Programs), behavior, mental health, parent leadership, resources and services, self-advocacy, transition issues for youth and young adults with disabilities and creating a good life for people with disabilities.
Through peer networking and access to professional resources, parents, self-advocates, family members, caregivers and professionals learn from each other as they continue their unique journeys caring for a child with a disability or a special health care need.
TxP2P’s goal is to provide parents with a sense of renewed energy and passion, along with information and tools to make positive changes for children with disabilities.
