Identifying Skin Damage: Pressure Ulcers & Incontinence Associated Dermatitis (also known as IAD or Diaper Rash) featuring Mary Sears, RN, CWOCN.
Incontinence Associated Dermatitis (IAD) and Pressure Ulcers can appear very similar in the early stages. However, the plan of care for treating and preventing each condition is very different. When IAD is mistaken for pressure ulcers, it results in the wrong treatment plan being initiated.
In this informative webinar, health care professionals and caregivers will learn about accurate, early identification of IAD and pressure ulcers to positively affect patient outcomes, improve quality scores and reduce reporting errors.
Topics include:
- The difference between Incontinence Associated Dermatitis (IAD) and Pressure Ulcers
- The effect of excessive moisture on skin integrity
- The three (3) components of a skin care regime for a person with fecal or urinary incontinence
