Shield HealthCare supports the home health nursing community with educational workshops throughout the year on essential patient care topics. In October, the featured course is The Treatment of Secondary Healing Wounds, with a clinician guest speaker from Hollister. Nurses will have the opportunity to earn 1 ce unit for this course.*
Upon completion of this educational workshop, nurses will be able to:
- Define the mechanisms involved during contraction of the wound margins during secondary healing of open wounds
- Comprehend the significance of bacterial burden on the health care environment
- Determine interventions to minimize the trauma of wound care on the patient pain experience
- List at least six aspects of patient care which influence wound healing by contraction
* Shield HealthCare and Hollister, Inc. will provide the education necessary and instructions to take online CEU tests and receive certificates at a cost of $10.00 per course. Estimated time of online test completion is less than 5 minutes.
