With this in mind, Shield HealthCare developed an annual story contest in 2001 on “What Makes Caregiving Rewarding?” The contest is designed to recognize and reward the challenging role of caregivers.
Since 2001, Shield HealthCare has collected over 1,000 touching stories from dedicated caregivers. From sons and daughters caring for an aging parent to parents caring for children with multiple disabilities, the prevailing theme is that of courage, hope and appreciation for each warm smile and every accomplishment, no matter how small.
In Shield HealthCare’s 1st edition caregiver story book, titled “The Love of Caring – A Collection of 100 Heartfelt Caregiver Stories” you will find a collection of our top 100 caregiver stories for a glimpse into the life of a caregiver. These stories come from a very special place–the hearts of caregivers.
